What makes someone really influential? Is it clothing and status? Is it the people you know? Is it having a point of view? I think I figured out what it is on this two hour long photoshoot.

Walking around downtown Portland with Evan Santos Perez didn't feel like just any old activity, it felt like a moment. "When people ask us who we're with, what should we say?" It was about creating a story and embodying the fantasy. Twinks for Rutabaga trying to help pass Measure 67: "do you have a second to add your name to this Google Form?" It was the feeling of engaged rapport. A flow state of jokes and references volleying between two gay guys that sounds like gibberish to passerby's. And in between those jokes, we must serve, of course.

The photoshoot should be cool. The colors should be cold. The intent should be masked and the movement should be blurred. The fashion should be designer but not vulgar. The lights should be on, as well as the headphones and sunglasses. These are ingredients to being influential, but really, the most important part of being influential is being real.
